Bob, a ginger stray cat, gained notoriety as "Street Cat Bob" after developing a profoundly positive relationship with James Bowen, a London busker and recovering addict. Their story started in 2007 when Bowen discovered Bob in his building's hallway, malnourished and injured. Bowen used his remaining £20 to pay for Bob's veterinary care despite his own financial difficulties.

Bowen tried to let Bob go after he recovered, but the devoted feline followed him everywhere, even getting on buses to go with him to his busking locations.

Bowen adopted Bob after realizing they both needed company, and the two became inseparable.

They were regularly spotted together in places like Covent Garden and Piccadilly Circus, which attracted attention to their partnership
